Puppy's 1st 4 Weeks |
Our pups are born in the climate controlled birthing stall monitored by our Internet Wireless Camera. Depending on outside temperatures, the pups, with their dam, will be moved to the larger shed run when they are approximately 3-4 weeks of age (with a heat lamp or fan if needed). The pups will be offered a small amount of canned food (Pedigree Puppy Food-Lamb and Rice) mornings and nights. At around 4 weeks, the pups will have access to dry dog food (Purina Puppy Chow). The puppies learn to use the pine sawdust for elimination purposes. The pups learn from their mothers to eliminate away from their food and bedding by following the example of the mother. The dam will begin to have some time off by staying in another run for 1 hour in the morning and evenings while the pups try their new solid food. Pupppies are dewormed @ 3 weeks of age with Pyrantel. | |

Puppy's
5 - 7 Weeks |
At 5 weeks, the dam will spend days in another run and nights with her pups. The pups will begin to eat more dry food and smaller amounts of canned food with access to food all day. We begin to handle the pups more, play with them outside in different environments and get them used to new stimuli including other dogs at our farm, cats, other people including children. Around the 6th week, the pups will see their dam for a while in the morning and evening for a drink of milk and discipline from their dams. The pups receive their 1st Vaccinations and Microchips and are again dewormed with Pyrantel @ 5 weeks. | |

Puppy's
7 - 8 Weeks |
By 7 weeks of age the pups are completely weaned from their dam. They are learning socialization with littermates and other animals (Thelma, our PWC, and the barn cats, along with human visitors). We encourage new pup owners to visit. Pups are dewormed with Drontal at 7 weeks if needed. | |
Adults |
Our Adult dogs are dewormed monthly (year-round) with Interceptor Dewormer. They are treated as necessary for seasonal fleas. Each dog receives it's 7-way vaccination in January of each year and receives either 1 or 3 year Rabies when due. Our dogs receive regular, supervised exercise on our 35 acre farm and other exercise time in our 2 acre fenced play area. |
